* 5 June – 1 July 2018 | 'Bank Gallery: Personal Spaces' @ the Lightbox in Woking
Orsi Cowell-Lehoczky exhibiting 5 paintings at the Lightbox in woking.
"I chose the paintings for their dream-like figuralism and shifted dimensions, to direct the viewer's attention to a different interpretation of the mundane. I picked everyday situations in public places - like travelling on a train or visiting the pub - and turned them into an intimate space: to describe a state of mind, a suspension in time. I notice, that this state is often present and can be evoked, we just often too busy to notice it."

Gallery Different, 14 Percy St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1DR
I am pleased to invite you to the second showing of Dreams, Promise & the Divine at Gallery Different in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia. The show expands on my January solo at the Chelsea Arts Club and features many new works.
Inspired by the female archetype, from saints to voodoo spirits, to the goddesses of the Greek Pantheon Dreams, Promise and the Divine is a creative exploration into the many forms these archetypes inhabit. They offer a plethora of possibilities of what it means to be a woman. “Traditional” feminine traits, such as kindness, passivity and a desire to nurture do of course feature, as so do icy determination, power, cunning, and everything in between.
