Welcome to the seventh edition of our newsletter. In this edition besides articles and news from our members I am pleased to include items from some of our new Associates and exhibition prize winners for you to enjoy. This year’s exhibition reached a new high with richly deserved positive reviews and showcased an eclectic mix of exceptional works by female artists. As members of this Society we are justly proud of our heritage and evolving recognition as we continue to move forward into the future.

Christine Charlesworth commissioned by Taylor Wimpey
Christine Charlesworth was commissioned by Taylor Wimpey to create a sculpture that would enhance the railings along the boundary of their Station View development in Guildford.
WARpaint Fundraiser
Caroline de Peyrecave SWA has set up a project called WARpaint.

Caroline is painting 15 large life size paintings of service men and women that have been injured on operations. Her work shows the subject having moved forward after their injuries and she hopes the paintings will motivate others in similar situations.

SWA member Vanessa Jayne has won the World Art Vote (sponsor by MS Amlin) the National Open Art Competition. Jayne’s emotive painting ‘The Void’, was previously exhibited at the SWA Annual Exhibition 2015 and will be on show at Mercers' Hall, in the City of London from 27th October until 4th November.

Art in The City

Sue Jelley PSWA invites you to 'Art in The City' special PV Monday 3 October 6 - 8pm. The stunning backdrop of one of the oldest Guilds in the City is something not to be missed.  As a Freeman and committee member of The Painters' Decorative & Fine Art Society I am proud to be exhibiting some new paintings.
