THE SOCIETY OF WOMEN ARTISTS
2024 EXHIBITION
The Society of Women Artists 163rd exhibition
The Society of Women Artists proudly hosted its 163rd Annual Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in June 2024. This year's exhibition marked a milestone with a record number of submissions from non-members, a testament to the incredible talent within our artistic community. We regret that we could not showcase all the deserving works but are grateful for the overwhelming interest.
The exhibition opened to the public on Tuesday, 25th June, and was formally inaugurated by our esteemed patron, HRH Princess Michael of Kent, who also presented awards to this year's winners at a special private view on Wednesday, 26th June. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the award winners for their exceptional contributions. We are also extremely grateful to all our sponsors who continue to support us and whose generosity enables us to offer an impressive list of awards to some very deserving artists.
This year, the SWA organized and enabled three charity events in conjunction with the exhibition to support causes close to our hearts: the Young People’s Art Initiative, Breast Cancer Now, and Meningitis Now! These events not only raised funds but also highlighted the importance of art in fostering community and supporting vital health causes.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors were treated to live demonstrations by our talented member artists, offering an engaging insight into their creative processes. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the members who generously shared their time and expertise: Ginny Page, Michele Ashby, Tessa Jane, Kristine Nason, Elizabeth Nast and Cathy Read.
We look forward to continuing our tradition of celebrating women in art and thank everyone—artists, patrons, and visitors—who made this year's exhibition a resounding success.
